The challenge
Most schools run on a mix of paper registers, spreadsheets and several unconnected apps. Attendance is taken on paper and typed in later. Fees are tracked by hand, receipts get lost and nobody knows exactly what is outstanding. Parents only hear about an absence or an unpaid fee when it is already a problem.
Each tool also sees only a slice of the school, so the principal has no single, current view of how the school is actually running.
What I built
One platform, many schools
The platform is multi-tenant: each school gets its own branded subdomain, with its data fully isolated from every other school. A platform-level dashboard manages schools, subscription plans, coupons, billing and an affiliate sales programme.
The right view for every role
Eight roles, from super admin and school admin to teacher, accountant, parent and student, each see only what they need. Teachers and accountants are deliberately kept separate: a teacher cannot see finances, and an accountant cannot see classroom marks.
Attendance that tells parents instantly
Every student gets a QR ID card. Scanning it at the gate marks them present, flags late arrivals automatically after the school's cut-off time and notifies parents by push notification or SMS.
Fees, payroll and online payments
Accountants generate invoices, collect fees and track outstanding dues, with automatic reminders to parents. Parents pay online and get an instant receipt. Teacher and staff payroll, expenses and financial reports sit in the same place.
Exams, communication and everything around them
Marks entry, report cards, merit lists and exam routines, plus real-time chat with attachments and voice messages, notices, timetables, online classes, a library, a school store, hostel management and a drag-and-drop public school website.
How it’s built
Where it is now
Get School Manager is live, with self-service sign-up, a free live demo school and a choice of subscription or pay-per-student billing. Schools can import students and staff from a CSV and be running the same day.
Because every module shares one database, attendance, fees, exams and messages stay connected. When attendance is marked, parents are notified. When a fee falls due, the reminder goes out on its own.
